Defining Nature of Islamic Republic in Iran

Western classical political philosophers like Aristotle or Plato would divide states in six categories. Three categories would define states as naturally good states, and there are other three states which would be defined as bad states that they are full of corrupt elements. However, in today's world the bad states are defined in more details as there are many bad states with their own unique characteristics. Thus, it would be worthy of defining nature of Islamic Republic in Iran in terms of political philosophy in order to have better understanding that why the theocratic regime in Iran is a bad state from window of Kleptocracy and Plutocracy, discussing bad element of the regime in Iran, and the theoretic regime in Iran is a rogue state. The prospect of this paper is to prove that the Islamic Republic in Iran inherited Kleptocracy and Plutocracy systems.

Looking at the Islamic Republic in Iran from window of Kleptocracy which is a term applied to a state that extends the personal wealth and political power of state rulers, officials, as well as, the ruling class at the expense of the population, sometimes without even the pretense of honest service. There are plenty of factual examples that how the theocratic state in Iran would fall in category of Kleptocracy as Paul KLEBNIKOV revealed dirty laundry of “Millionaire Mullahs” in Forbes magazine whose pen aimed at Ali Akbar Hashemi RAFSANJANI and revealed “the 1979 revolution transformed the Rafsanjani clan into commercial pashas. One brother headed the country's largest copper mine; another took control of the state-owned TV network; a brother-in-law became governor of Kerman province, while a cousin runs an outfit that dominates Iran's $400 million pistachio export business; a nephew and one of Rafsanjani's sons took key positions in the Ministry of Oil; another son heads the Tehran Metro construction project (an estimated $700 million spent so far). Today, operating through various foundations and front companies, the family is also believed to control one of Iran's biggest oil engineering companies, a plant assembling Daewoo automobiles, and Iran's best private airline (though the Rafsanjanis insist they do not own these assets).”1

Looking from window of Plutocracy at the theocratic state in Iran which is ruled by the wealthy, or power provided by wealth. In a plutocracy, the degree of economic inequality is high while the level of social mobility is low. In March 2006, Export Development Canada reported on matter of economic inequality for Iran that 10% of population is possessing 75% of Iran's wealth, and 90% of population is possessing 25% of Iran's wealth, and the above trend of economic inequality would remain constant because the theocratic regime does not have any plan to improve quality of life in Iran. In addition, the 10% of population which is possessing 75% of Iran's wealth would be composed of cleric class, Revolutionary Guard or some form of groups which have closed tie with the establishment in Iran.

The theocratic state in Iran has two dimensions and one dimension would be Kleptocracy from point view of dictatorship and nepotist state. Obviously, the theocratic state in Iran rules Iran with Iron Fist by implementing and enforcing Machiavellian doctrine of fear, fraud and force to monopolize its political power by purging all opposing voices in Iran, and created state of vellayateh fageh which means God would govern Iran with assistance of a Sign of God/Ayatollah.
The Kleptocracy inherently has direct detrimental effect on a civil-society of a nation which is visible in Iran today as there is absent of free media, which is not challenging conventional wisdom of a society, but it is working as an instrument for the Islamic state to spread its propaganda in Iran and throughout the world. Furthermore, there is matter of economic corruption in Kleptocracy system as state often vitiates prospects of foreign investment and drastically weakens the domestic market and cross-border trade. As the Kleptocracy normally embezzles money from its subjects by misusing funds derived from tax payments, or money laundering schemes. Thus, the Kleptocracy political system tends to degrade most people's quality of life. In addition, the money is stolen from the subjects, it is often taken from funds that were earmarked for public amenities; such as, building of hospitals, schools, roads, parks and the like - which has further adverse effects on the quality of life of its subjects living under a Kleptocracy system. For example, Ali Akbar Hashemi RAFSANJANI owns 49% of High Way 407 in Province of Ontario, Canada, as well as, Center Point Mall in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.2 The Canadian Government is fully aware that RAFSANJANI is stealing money from Iranian and is investing money in Canada. Most importantly, RAFSANJANI is involved in money laundry in Canada while Iranian in stark poverty, and are forced to sell their body organs legally or illegally in order to manage their livelihood. Plus, Canadian Government has provided safe heaven for RAFSANJANI in city of Lava in Province of Quebec so that RAFSANJANI would be safe during crisis from any kind of harm and it became clear that RAFSANJANI was protected by the Canadian Government because RAFSANJANI claimed insurance in Province of Quebec due to break an entry to his residence for stolen a computer from his residence.

This portion of the paper is discussing internal operation of the theocratic state in Iran. The theocratic state believes it rules Iran with the Islamic law/sharia, and created the state of vellayateh fageh, and since God cannot be on earth to rule Iran, and the 12th saint is in occult. Henceforth, Sign of God/Ayatollah KHAMEINI has all power to rule Iran. Since, the political system in Iran cannot be manage by one person and requires certain individuals to act as eyes and ears of the Ayatollah KHAMEINI, and these candidates would be selected base “by values and attitudes rather than just credentials. Socialization. This element ensures a membership dedicated to an integrated social system. Guidance is by accepted principles rather than by imposed plans, by vision rather than by targets. Responsibility. All members share responsibility. They feel trusted and supported by leaders who participate a craft style of management that is rooted in experience. Inspiration thus replaced so-called empowerment. Judgment. Performance is judged by experienced people, including recipients of the service, some of whom sit on representative oversight boards.”3 Thus, this system is a normative control model which is lacking legitimacy to govern its subjects. For example, selected president Mahmoud AHMADI NEZHAD is acting what Sign of God/Ayatollah KHAMEINI instructs him to say and do. Mahmoud AHMADI NEZHAD has no legal power to do anything at his own will and is not representing public's will. In addition, Mahmoud AHMADI NEZHAD is thinking Ayatollah KHAMEINI is acting on behalf of God, and there is no reason to further argue with command of KHAMEINI, who is representing God's will on the surface of earth, and it is assumed that KHAMEINIU destines to bring justice on the earth.

The last portion of this paper would argue that the theocratic state in Iran is a rogue state which is causing serious international chaos in this global village. The notion of rogue state is defined as a state which is sponsoring terrorism and lack of human rights which is the case in Iran as the theocratic state in Iran is sponsoring terrorism with its Hezbollah terrorist faction around the globe, there is absent of total safety, and security for Iranian, absent of electoral process, and the state in Iran is moving toward proliferation of weapon of mass destruction with intention of bullying other nations in order to compel the other nations to its own vision.

The theocratic state in Iran has been shouting out loud for destruction of Israel and US since 1979, and it has been successful in its campaign to gather sympathizer from the Middle East region, as well as, Western nations to align their foreign policies with the theocratic regime in Iran with intention of obliterating the Israel and the US. Today, Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan's foreign policy are notching with the theocratic regime in Iran with hostile intention of destroying the Israel and the US. Plus, the Western media is sympathizing with the theocratic regime in Iran as the Western media claims the state in Iran is a victim of the US which requires the Western nations to collaborate with the rogue state of Islamic Republic in Iran in order to tame the regime in Iran over any matter regardless what would be the outcome.

The bottom line for this paper would be that the theocratic state in Iran has two dimensions. One, it is composed of Kleptocracy and Plutocracy systems, as the elite of the society is plundering Iran's wealth, and Western nations are allowing the theocratic regime in Iran to plunder Iran's wealth for their own self-interest while Iranian are facing economic hardship, absent of civil-society, and social inequality. In addition, the Western nations are cashing their prize for now and the real danger is looming on horizon for the Wester nations' safety and security as the Middle East nations would become one force with intention of destroying the Israel, and the US. There should not be any doubt that the regime in Iran, as well as, other Middle East nations are looking forward to wipe the whole Europe due to past grievance. Perhaps, there is a march toward War of Civilization at some point in close future.
