Defunct Reform Movement in Iran

In 1997, Mullah Mohammad KHATAMI won landslide election victory in Iran because he promised to the voters that he would reform and revive Iran's rotted establishment from its very bedrock by forming a civil society in Iran, as he would breath a new life in the theocratic's dead system.

Mr. KHATAMI's election platform was very clear to the voters that he would transform current despotic regime in Iran to a moderate regime. Where, there would be some form of civilized dialogue on internal affairs, as well as, foreign affairs, and he would not allow the hardliners or conservative in Iran to use coercive method against public; such as, tearing apart a person physically, and mentally in order to create a conformity society. In addition, Mr. KHATAMI's above propaganda became very appealing to Western media. Mr. KHATAMI appeared as a dim light at the end of tunnel for everyone, it appeared for everyone that time had come for the regime in Iran to drop its belligerent attitude, and began to expand its horizon, and exploring new potentialities.

Mr. KHATAMI's saga of reforming Iran dragged from 1997 to 2005 because Mr. KHATAMI earned his black belt in art of manipulation, and he knew very well how to play public on palm of his hands by discussing sensitive issues in public arena that no one would dare to utter those ideas in private of their homes, just in case one of their neighbors would eavesdrop in privacy of their homes, and would report them to the authority as the henchmen of the regime without hesitation would be busting people's home doors and would drag them out of their privacy, and would begin to harm them physically, and mentally.

Once, individual key players of the reform movement failed their public trials to public in Iran, as well as, the Western media, and it became clearly obvious for everyone that there was no hope for this normative control model of Islamic Republic in Iran to alter its dynamic, and the regime in Iran regardless of its political factions; such as, hardliners/conservative or reformist that they had all one common intention with each other. How to prolong the regime in Iran by applying Machiavelli doctrines in their public policies so that the regime in Iran would survive its rulership in Iran with iron fist.

Just in one week, the Western media clearly stated that reform was defunct in Iran. For example, Time Magazine, journalist Robin WRIGHT drafted an article about Iran on page 28 to 29, August 31st, 2009 “The Kennedys of Iran as Turmoil spreads, the Supreme Leaders taps one family to step in” that “if the Shah were still in power, they'd be [working with] him. And if Iran evolves into democracy, they'll try and reinvent themselves as progressive democrats.” The Economist Magazine published an article on August 29th, 2009 to September 04th, 2009, page 29, title of “Showing who's boss” that there was no hope to reform the system in Iran because the Revolutionary Guards, and all branches of suppressing masses had taken side with the establishment, and were going to plunder Iran's wealth. Most significantly, the Revolutionary Guards was made-up of 120,000, and other branches of the regime's thug made-up of 3 million. As a result, the regime in Iran did not need assistance of outside to suppress uprising in Iran. The regime had its own muscle to flex in case of contingency. Last, the Maclean's Magazine on page 29 discussed how the regime in Iran was trying to alter its bully image by allowing women ministers in the cabinet of Mahmoud AHMADI NEZHAD.

Therefore, the Western media came to one final conclusion that the regime in Iran is a defunct system whether it would be reform or hardline. How about you?
